About Us
Welcome to the Web
site for the San Fernando Pastoral Region
Ministry With Young Adults. SFMYA was
established in the hopes of clustering the
many young adult ministries of the San
Fernando Pastoral Region of the Archdiocese
of Los Angeles. Below, you will find out a
little more about us and perhaps answers to
questions you may have about SFMYA.

Who we are (our
mission statement)
We're here to connect
all young adults --- regardless of their
status in the church (married, single,
divorced, unbaptized, etc) --- ages 18 to
39, with Jesus, the Catholic church and one
another, through spiritual, social and
service opportunities. Our events are for
you regardless of where you are in your
life and your faith journey!
Frequently asked
questions
What does SFMYA base
its ministry on? Ministry With Young Adults is
Christ-centered.
What do you mean by
"young adult?" Men and women between the ages of
18 to 39.
Who are you calling on
to participate in SFMYA? We invite all young adults
regardless of their standing in the church,
position in their faith journey or marital
status (divorced, single, separated,
estranged, widowed, etc.).
Will you hook me up? No. We are not a singles
club.
Why? Because it would exclude the
many young adults who are married, engaged
or celibate. We simply don't want to do
that. However, if you do meet someone while
participating in SFMYA, great! But again,
that is not the point of SFMYA.
What is the point of
SFMYA? The
point of SFMYA is to connect all young
adults —regardless of their status in
the church (married, single, divorced,
unbaptized, etc) — ages 18-39, with
Jesus, the Catholic church and one another,
through spiritual, social and service
opportunities.
