Theology on Tap's first night was a huge success! I was thrilled at the number of people that showed up for this first night. God willing, twice more will attend for Bishop Wilkerson's second round of talks on Oct. 17.
I hope that you found the talks as rivetting and informative as I did. I think that we did great having the bishop as our speaker. He never disappoints, and he is never afraid to tackle controversial topics. I wish more people had his speaking ability and gut.

While getting gas in Eagle Rock Wednesday night, I was approached by a young man giving out invitations to a screening of "The Passion of the Christ" at a non-denominational church in Eagle Rock. Curious as to who would be screening the film, I asked him what church he belonged to. He told me it was a church down the road. Since I did not know of any Catholic church in the direction he was pointing, I asked him what denomination the church belonged to. He said it was a non-denominational church,..... Comments

Cool, dude! I felt the same way. There were just so many people, even at the social. Although the hour was late, everyone still seemed to want more. Their hands were raised, they were singing and praising. Comments

SCRC was awesome! The feel of the Holy Spirit through everybody was amazing! Being around tons of people with the same faith, praying and feeling the Holy Spirit! Inspirational! The Young Adult track was wonderful! Really enjoyed meeting lots of people around my age that are Catholic and proud of it and want to learn more about their faith. It was a thrilling experience and yes, exhausting, but worth every moment. Comments

I just came back from what seems a full day of praise and worship. From the people I have talked to, it seems to be an exhausting day. From the looks of their faces, that seems farther from the truth.
I just came back from Jesus & Java, the nightly social of SCRC. The bands were awesome, and the music was nonstop. Some of my favorites included Oaks of Justice, whose lead singer, Robert Ennis, I was thrilled to meet, along with is wife, Kimberly. Check out the band, where you will be ab..... Comments

SCRC starts in little less than 12 hours from now. The anticipation of what must be ahead surely is on all our minds as we enter into another SCRC.
For the youth track, I am excited. This is my second SCRC. My first was a couple of years ago. This year will be my second. I was lucky enough to score a gig with the wonderful musicians of Singing Of His Love (SOHL), pronounced "sol." As an aspiring musician, I seek to play new forms of music. I've been playing in church since I was 15. But..... Comments

The first thing you'll notice in the eCalendar this week is an eclectic taste of events going on in and around the San Fernando Pastoral Region. In an effort to promote young adults activities throughout the L.A. Archdiocese, we have included events from outside our region as well. Check these events out. They may be what you are looking for this summer. Remember, if you are a young adult ministry coordinator or member of an young adult ministry, you can use our Web site to g..... Comments

"Clusterizing efforts within parishes" by victoej on May 12, 2004, 5:30 pm, in category General

Valerie Zamora and I were discussing clustering efforts and we realized that the potential growth for our Young adult ministry can make a phenomenal impact on Jesus Christ's Church! If we can build on the talent from the potential saints coming out of our youth programs (lifeteen, confirmation etc), OUR ministry will eventually feed the whole church (i.e. El Shaddai, Divine Mercy, Bible studies, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent De Paul, Confirmation FAcilitators, Youth Ministers, Euch.....
